Baby Race and Watt close to podium in WSK Final Cup

Baby Race almost brought home a podium finish in the OKJ class of the WSK Final Cup held at Adria. In the feature race, Noah Watt fought among the frontrunners after securing the pole position in qualifying. Unfortunately, a contact saw him drop down to P4. In the same category, Marzio Moretti paid the price of a troubled qualifying session that forced him to recover ground in all three heats. After reaching the feature race, he faced another tough break when one of the drivers he had in front suffered a mechanical failure and slowed down abruptly. The contact was inevitable and a penalty for the broken front wing saw Marzio pushed back to 25th. A contact also involved Danny Carenini, who was making his first start with Baby Race. He was quick throughout the weekend, but had to retire. Edoardo Morricone was deprived of the chance to advance to the final by a penalty after being impressive in the heats. Alex Huang and Yukui Hong did not reach the final too.

In the Mini class, Tikhon Kharitonov was the leading Baby Race driver by ending up 12th in the final. Nicolò Cuman finished 16th, followed by Ruslan Fomin in 17th place and Nikita Bedrin in 26th place. Alessandro Cenedese scored 27th place, but faced some tough luck as he was 5th before losing ground due to a contact. Paul Aron was 6th before being involved in a bad crash that ended with no physical consequences. He was classified 31st. Vittorio Catino, Luca Bosco, Rashid and Conrad Laursen did not reach the final.

Leonardo Lorandi made is OK debut but a series of contacts in the pre-final, where he was starting in a great third place, and in the final, jeopardized his result. He finished P13 in the feature race.
