Baby Race controls Italian OKJ Championship after Battipaglia

The double round held by the Italian karting championship in seven days between Sarno and Battipaglia saw Baby Race affirm their domain over the OKJ class. In the two races held last weekend at Battipaglia, Alexey Brizhan retained his lead with a fourth and a third place that enable him to control the overall championship with 108 points. Luca Bosco delivered really well too and started from the pole before cruising to a double second place. He is laying in second place in standings too with 91 points.

In the 60 Mini championship, Baby Race took podium in the opening race with Alessandro Cenedese, who crossed the line third and fifth. He is holding the same position in overall points. A penalty deprived Conrad Laursen of a podium finish as he took sixth in race 1 before ending 16th in race 2, having been pushed off-track at the start. It’s been a great weekend for Brando Badoer too as he ended up 22nd for a penalty in race 2 and P10 in race 2. He’s now tenth in standings.

Rashid Al Dhaheri rounded out the top-10 in the first race. The Emirates driver is impressing more and more. Maximilian Popov and Giosué Galbiati showed a positive trend by accessing the final. Galbiati took the top-10 in both races, while Popov did it in race 1 before a penalty deprived him of a good finish in race 2.
