Baby Race on top, then hit by bad luck in 7 Laghi KRS Open Series outing

Nikita Bedrin had won everything in the Mini 60 class at 7 Laghi. The opening heat, the qualifying race and the pre-final. Unfortunately, in the key moment of the final, when he was leading. A contact dropped him down to the back of the pack. The Russian Baby Race driver did not surrender though and started a spectacular comeback that brought him to sixth place, also scoring the fastest lap of the race. Bedrin ended up right behind team-mate Luca Bosco, who was fifth in the final and, as usual, among the frontrunners in the class.

Still in the Mini class, Ruslan Fomin scored a positive 10th place, with the Russian delivering 11 passes. Alex Kattoulas also made it to the final, ending up 22nd, in front of Diego Contecha (P28), Tikhon Kharitonov (P32) who were penalized for a contact and a dropped nose respectively. Despite being extremely quick, Nicolò Cuman was prevented from accessing to the final by mechanical issues after winning an heat. A contact in the pre-final also stopped the run of Rashid Al Dhaheri, who showed great skills and improvement in the heats. The same goes for Vittorio Catino, who did not get past the pre-final.

Baby Race fielded a new driver, Yukui Hong, in the OKJ class. After a good start of the weekend, Hong was forced to stop in the final phase due to rib pains. The stop was decided as a precautionary measure before the final round of the European Championship at Genk.

Nazareno Compagnoni experienced a great debut in the KZ class. The Italian was among the frontrunners all-weekend long, but didn’t end the final in the best possible way, crossing the line in 5th. Compagnoni put some good experience under his belt before his next race outing at Siena.
