Baby Race scores 1-2 finish in Trofeo Industrie Mini class

Baby Race captured a fantastic 1-2 result in the Mini class of the 2017 Trofeo Industrie karting race at Lonato. The Brescia-based team started strong in the 60 Mini class with Nikita Bedrin and Rusian Fomin, who cruised to the first two positions. A spectacular run to the finish impressed the audience, with the two young Russians fielded by Sandro Lorandi's team becoming the absolute protagonists of the day. Bedrin had won the Prefinal, while Fomin had finished fifth. Brando Badoer also made his way to the final, ending up 15th after a remarkable comeback, while Alex Popov took 28th place. In the repechage, Joshua Galbiati was 11th while Francesco Lorandi had to retire.

In the OKJ class, Luca Bosco put together a good run by finishing fifth in the Final, the same position as in the Prefinal. Alexey Brizhan hit bad luck and ended up 17th. In the OK, Leonardo Marseglia had a positive weekend among the frontrunners, finishing sixth overall in the Final. In KZ2, GP3 Series driver Alessio Lorandi made it back to karting competition for the occasion. The Italian performed well, but after crossing the line seventh, he was penalized down to P16 for a lowered bumper violation.
