Italian Karting Championship at Triscina - Moretti keeps leading in OKJ class

The penultimate round of the Italian Championship held last weekend at Triscina in Sicily saw Marzio Moretti retain the OKJ class lead. The Italian Baby Race driver captured pole position in qualifying before a mechanical issue forced him to start fifth in the first Final. Moretti set the fastest lap of the race and ended up fourth, while in the second race he moved up to second straight away. Given the dirty and slippery track though, he decided not to risk valuable points, ending up fifth. He keeps leading the Italian OKJ competition with 134 points and is followed by Genisi and Fusco, tied at 112,5. The final round of the season will be on the 16th of October at Val Vibrata.

In the Mini 60 class, Baby Race was once again the a frontrunner in qualifying and in the heats. In the first Final, Nicolò Cuman started third but was relegated to the back of the pack by a contact. The same fate hit Alessandro Cenedese, who had moved up to P4 at the first corner. Luca Bosco performed well and crossed the line in 10th place, while Cuman scored P14. Cenedese ended up in P26 and Vittorio Cantino finished P28. The second Final was jeopardized by the results of the first. Cuman recovered well to take ninth place. Catino, Cenedese and Bosco scored P21, P29 and P31 respectively.
