WSK Super Master Series - Baby Race, Rosso win OKJ Title

Baby Race experienced an extraordinary weekend in the final round of the WSK Master series at Sarno. Lining-up at the Italian venue, Andrea Rosso secured an outstanding title in the OK Junior class with a fifth place in the final. The Piedmont-based youngster opted for a clever approach, aiming for valuable points and bringing home the championship. In a brilliant start of the season, Rosso showcased himself as one of the most interesting Italian prospects in racing.

The right credit must be given to all the Baby Race staff as they supported every move made by Rosso so far in 2017 with good technical decisions. Also in OKJ, Luca Bosco experienced a good weekend. He ended up third in Pre-Final B and ended the Final in P15 after fighting for the podium. It was a bit of a pity for Paul Aron, who ended up into the top-10 before being demoted to P23 with a 10” penalty. Unfortunately, Alexey Brizhan had to retire for a contact in Pre-Final A and could not access to the Final.

Baby Race slightly missed what would have been a huge combo with the Mini class. Nikita Bedrin was in full hunt of the Super Master Series title but was nipped by Minì at a last gasp. It was a pity but it must not overshadow the speed and consistency showed by the Russian, who crossed the line fourth in the Final after emerging as one of the stars of the heat races. Alessandro Cenedese had a good day too in P9. Completing the team roster in the feature race were Enzo Scionti in P18, Andrey Dubynin in P24, Rashid Al Dhaheri in P31 due to a 5” penalty, Conrad Laursen in P33. Maximilian Popov did not make it to the Final.

Last but not least, Marzo Moretti delivered an amazing comeback run in the OK final. The Italian completed more than 20 overtake manouvers from the 17th and last row on the grid to post an incredible 8th place. On the other hand, Finlay Kenneally was in the podium zone but dropped back to 15th due to a technical issue. Edoardo Morricone did not make his way to the Final.
