Watt, Baby Race retain European CIK-FIA lead after Portimao

Noah Watt is still leading the European CIK-FIA Championship in the OK Junior class. Despite a tough weekend at Portimão, where some sets of flawed tires jeopardized the efforts of many racers, including the ones fielded by Baby Race, the Italian squad put on-track their skills and experience. And their professionalism paid off despite the unbeliavable conditions. The young Dane managed to reach the final after a third place in the Pre Final 1. In the feature race, he ended up seventh, collecting the points needed to retain the lead in standings. The next round in Genk, at the end of July, will be key. Tire issues also plagued the efforts of the other Baby Race drivers, who did not make it through the pre-finals. Marzio Moretti ended up 19th in the PF1, while Bogdan Fetisov took 28th place in the PF2, just ahead of Edoardo Morricone. Alex Huang did not reach the pre-finals.
